We all know the problems of Pakistan. I don't see how obsessing over
them is going to help us. Highlighting their failures is like shooting
at the side of a barn - very easy to do and not at all productive.
So I appreciate your offer but would prefer not to see these messages
on 'nukkad'.

If anyone is interested in these reports, please contact Rohit directly
and ask him to send them to you via direct email.

The Cambridge (yes, that Cambridge) University Press dictionary
at http://dictionary.cambridge.org does not list virii. My email to
'nukkad' from March 2001 talks about biologists deciding that 'virus'
is a collective noun in Latin but that it needs a plural in English.
They settled on 'viruses'.

Maybe all of them are giving into Americanisms but I should note that
common usage does not necessarily mean correct usage. I grimace when
people use 'data' as a singular noun but don't have the energy to
correct them.

Yeah, but almost all of those jokes are NOT funny. In fact, a lot
of them are the same jokes with blondes replaced by Sardars replaced
by Irish replaced by Mexicans replaced by Polish replaced by sorority
girls and so on. If the joke still sounds funny when you replace
Sardar/blonde with yourself, then it is a good joke. Else, it is
just another cheap shot at some group. Your 'joke' on the dating
habits of women falls into this category.

The 'nukkad' guidelines specifically say 'No sardar jokes' and I
mean it.
