I had mentioned that Kalam is the 12th 'ELECTED' President, by counting Dr.
Prasad twice because he was elected twice. I had also mentioned in the same
mail that Kalam is the 13th PERSON to become President. 

Since Justice Hidayatullah and Mr. B.D.Jatti held the office of the
President as per the Constitutional Provisions, there is no reason why they
should be excluded when you count the previous Presidents. True, they held
office for short duration and were not 'elected'.  But they were not
usurpers either. For Constitutional propriety and continuity in the list, it
is more appropriate that they be included in the count. 

Rohit also mentioned the states to which previous Presidents belonged to.
President is Head of Indian State and PM is head of Indian Government. Does
it matter which state they belong to? Let us try to keep vital institutions
above parochial politics.
