[nukkad] Why Bcc is bad

Husain,

You are right about how you got the email. Arya put the 'nukkad'
address in the 'Bcc' field and the IndiaWin address in the 'To'
field. The problem with this is anyone wanting to reply to this
(or any other Bcc'ed message) from this list has to manually 
delete the IndiaWin address and enter the 'nukkad' address. 

Putting both addresses in the 'To' field is slightly better since
you only have to delete the IndiaWin address now. If you forget to
delete it from your reply and you are not a member of that list, 
your message will be blocked by the list manager at IndiaWin. This
can get to be a pain for the moderator of that list since he/she
will usually get an email about these blocked emails.

The same situation occurs if someone on IndiaWin replies to this
email and forget to delete the 'nukkad' address. Their email will
be blocked here and I will get a notification.

The best solution is to send separate messages to both lists but
most people find this a hassle and don't do it.

nukkad-list@mumbai-central.com is the original 'nukkad' list. This
is where all emails for 'nukkad' should be sent. 

nukkadites@yahoogroups.com was setup by Sai, a list member, when 'nukkad'
was offline for a few days. Some people have signed up to both lists
in the event of 'nukkad' being unavailable again. There is also a
possibility of 'nukkadites' being used for discussing topics deemed
unsuitable for 'nukkad'. You are free to sign up to nukkadites too
by sending an email to nukkadites-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
