To regard a person like MicViegh or Bhagat Singh as martyr depends on which 
side of the fence you are sitting.However for me none of their actions are 
justified , let it be for any reason.Taking human life for personal 
reasons, or to make a statement is heinous.We should never fall for the 
trap of glorifying such fools.
As for the argument of capital punishment, we can debate it for long time 
.But to reject its validity on the basis of new age and modern life is 
absurd.Humans are as much cruel today as they were 1000 years back.The 
propensity to kill , steal, rape is as much present as it was present in 
Adam's time.Human nature does not change , it has just made life easier for 
himself due to technological advances, nothing more.We have not been quite 
able to solve the problems of heart and mind.
Some people might argue that it is better to develop a peace loving 
society, to remove the crime rather then to kill the criminal.This is 
welcome, but that is more of a long term planning, By doing so we might 
reduce the rate of crime, but surely the eradication is almost impossible 
and to turn in those freaks , it is neceessary to have checkes and controls 
in the form of punishments.If the state cease to provide the justice , (or 
if it is delayed as in our country), you create unrest and unarchy in the 
society.By not killing a person responsible for death of hundreds of fellow 
being , we are inviting other such extremist to come and do what they like 
and get away with it.
More thoughts on it .....
