ON THE RISK OF BEING BORN AN INDIAN GIRL
If you happen to be conceived in India and are a girl fetus, you run a
terrible risk, intra and extrauterine, and may either never make it, because
Mummy and Daddy want you dead, or make it and get incinerated by Preetam
Dulha while Dayan Ma supplies the kerosene soaked rags and looks on,
heartless and smug.
HERE IS A GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION OF YOUR INTRAUTERINE RISK -
The numbers in small type are your sisters who survived birth. The numbers
in CAPS mark the kids who were killed, dismembered actually, because the
dear Mummy and Daddy chose to do it.
