Tip of the day: There are moments when art attains almost to the dignity
of manual labour. -- Oscar Wilde (1856-1900)

Dear All,
I read the postings in Digest 239 with interest.
I am commenting on many of the issues contained
therein:
I agree with Gireesh Dixit, Kapil and others.I am sure
that if the Muslim clerics were to accomodate the
Hindu's aspirations, and willingly concede the Ayodhya
ground for a temple , the country's people would once
again breathe peace.
Alas, I do not think it will happen, because the
politicians will never allow it.They want to continue
fomenting trouble between the two major religions, and
" DIVIDE AND RULE " so that the common man will never
look at the REAL issues of poverty, lack of education,
illiteracy, child mortality, corruption, and
unemployment, to name a few.
I agree with Majid, that Gireesh hasn't probably read
the Quranic verses, and I would suggest that he do so.
I will try and upload the Quran English Translation on
www.kturn.com, and then let you all know.
I am truly sure that Kapil is correct in assuming that
Muslim injustices far exceed those of Hindus, but I
think he exagerrates when he claims to know a
million(laugh!) of them!
I think many Hindus from lower castes will still eat
beef; so will Buddhists, in addition to Muslims,
Christians and Parsis. The reason has nothing to do
with insult to any God or Goddess or religion, but
because:
1. Beef costs half as much as mutton/lamb
2. Beef tastes very good in kababs, khima etc. because
of the higher fat content and because it is red meat,
full of a blooded flavour
3.According to Muslim belief, lower forms of life may
be born as the most exalted of beings, viz. humans if
they are sacrificed while reciting allah's name.
If that is so, the Muslim person is actually doing the
cow a favour by terminating its life, so that Allah
may bless it in the next life, and give it the soul of
a Man.
Kapil is surely overreacting when he says all Hindu
girls are being raped systematically in Pakistan. He
should provide facts, not sensationalise. In any case,
his review of films is more entertaining than his
foray into religious bigotry.
I think someone wrote that by denigrating Hindustani
Nationalism, you are doing injustice to jawans and so
on at the border. I ask him, are there no Muslims in
the army? Are you not demoralising them by calling
them unpatriotic, bas@@@@@ and so many other names?
Think about that also.
A final point: We are on the threshold of a war, and
we need to stand united against an outside aggressor.
So, please look outward to see the lurking danger, the
look inward to see your God within yourself, and
finally decide what you plan to do,okay.
