Akshay, please don't fabricate events, stick to the facts. Prove me that 
this is happening. Can you cite any instance of a person switching his faith 
just because he studied in convent schools? And your statement "in minority 
schools reading of religios texts are forced down the throat of every child 
n one small" is nothing but miles away from reality. I studied in convent 
schools in Kerala and from what I know the only religious topic taught is 
Catechism, the Catholic form of Christian teaching (please note "Catholic 
Form"). There is the option for a student to attend "Moral Science" intead, 
so the question of forced religious teaching is out of question. Also F.Y.I. 
even other non-Catholic Christian denominations attend Moral Science classes 
and not Catechism. The entire syllabus being taught in these schools are 
freely acessible and as a matter of fact most of them follow the curricullum 
prescribed by state and Central boards. Then how on earth could you equate 
convent schools with Madrassas? So I should presume that it is you who was 
brainwashed by someone with misinformation about convent schools and not the 
other way. I'm in no way claiming that Convent schools authorities are 
sqeaky clean in their dealings and outlook. They do resort to favouritism 
and Pro-Catholic bias, the most apparent of which is reserving seats for 
Catholic students. But that doesn't in any way bracket them with religious 
bigots.

Once again please check the facts. As far as I know there has been no 
oppposition to it other than from Muslim quarters.

I agree, this subsidy should be abolished. But then the tax exemption for 
Hindu undivided family and ban on cow slaughter should also be abolished. In 
the same vein I have no hesitation in saying that the government in no way 
should be involved in funding of schools run by religious bodies/trusts 
(Hindu, Muslim, Christian or any).

The current government was swept to power on the promise of implementing 
Uniform Civil Code and abolishment of Article 370. Who prevented them from 
doing so? Don't tell me that the minorities did.

Imagine Ireland or Italy coming out with a law stating that the entire 
populace irrespective of their ethnic and cultural background, should desist 
from eating non-vegetarian food on Friday because Catholic beliefs prohibit 
them. Had you been there what will be your feeling? I fully agree that 
minorities/immigrants should integarte into the mainstream but forced 
imposition of a religious personal law is not the answer.

I do appreciate your concern. However this question should be asked to those 
folks who keep on shouting about atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits and use them 
just as display objects to bolster their political base but do nothing to 
address their plight.

Okay all the mainstream media is biased. But then suggest other 
publications? Plesae don't tell me the likes of Panchajanya or Sword of 
Truth.

Of course the history in circulation currently is flawed and biased, but 
then what is the alternative? The one purported by Sangh Parivar replete 
with wonderful facts like Jesus delivering Ten Commandments to Jews? I would 
rather opt for stopping teaching history in schools.

Leave secularists, why is even the most pious Hindu discorging their wards 
from taking it up. In my view it is the lack of information about the 
subject. If only our Hindu loving party had spent on research and 
development a quarter of what is being spent on Mandir making, for the 
revival of such age old methodologies.

Absolutely right. And also the indisputable fact that "past is past" and "it
