Except jains & hindus (barring a few), all communities eat beef. Then why
single out muslims for this.

Only meat of herbivorous animals is lawful in islam. We beleive eating has
an effect on one's behaviour and hence meat of carnivorous animals like
lion, tiger, hyena etc etc is prohibited.

We eat all herbivorous animals and cows are no favourite but since cows are
available in plenty, their meat is cheap making it popular amongst the
masses.

Guptaji, any idea on how we are going to go about doing this. If you can
convince me that we (Indians) can manage our cattle popn and do without
eating beef, I am ready to campaign against cow slaughter !!!
