This is another misconception. There is no compulsion in Islam to eat beef.

In fact, there is no compulsion regarding eating at all. Only the unlawful
(like carnivorous animals & pork) is prohibited. Eating veg / non veg or a
combination of both has been left to the individuals to decide for
themselves.  A muslim can be a good muslim even if he is a vegetarian.
