Comments:
1. Legal sanction for Joint Hindu family is not a creation of law 
makers of independent  India. This existed for 200 years while the 
british ruled india, for another 300 years when the mughals ruled 
India and for at least 5000 years when Indians were their own 
rulers. A legal fact existing for 5000-6000 years can not be done 
away with simply because a few persons do not like it. It is basic 
that an existing  law can be repealed or modified only through 
process of law. that means that our law makers [legislators] must 
change law. in a democracy, the means for doing so is to build up 
public opinion against existing law and make our legislators 
change law. Till then, we have to follow the laws of the land.

2. Pleadings  for joint family system canbe given on sociological 
grounds. But, for sake of argument, even if it is seen by some as 
an appeasement for Hindus, then do not the Hindus have a right to 
follow their own law like muslims and christians?
