equipment, professional training, entry fees and packed lunch. 

More about the abseiling lessons
Abseiling Pursuits emphasizes safe and responsible participation in
the sport. It is primarily an introduction to the world of abseiling.
Its all you wanted to ever know about basic abseiling but didn't know
who the hell was offering it ! 

Prerequisites / Co requisites
Abseiling Pursuits - Level 1 is a prerequisite to participation.
Equivalent abseiling experience may be substituted at the discretion
of the instructor. 
Abseiling Pursuits - Level 2 is a co requisite to participation.
Instructor's consent is also required.


Level 1 training details
This level supplements the basic skills in Abseiling and prepares the
trainee for participation in the Abseiling Level 2. The focus
includes a review of basic skills and not entirely on the technical
systems.

The focus includes

Introduction to abseiling gear 
Discuss and demonstrate basic equipment that is used for abseiling. 
Build competence in caring for, and correctly using equipment.
Learn how to fit and adjust a harness.

Knots
Briefing on the applications of knots. 
Learn basic safety knots. 
Competence in tying knots used for building anchors, ascending a
rope, and belay escapes.

Abseiling Techniques
Learn basic abseiling techniques on easy gradients.
Competence with balance on rock face and proper limbs co-ordination.
Understanding various rock faces and strategic gear usage. 

Rope Management
Ground skills of coiling a rope and learn to minimize its wear and
tear. 
Understanding crucial rope-related safety issues. 

Belaying
Understand the safety system involved with abseiling.


Note
1. Gear and clothing requirements will be detailed before abseiling
pursuits. Compliance with the gear requirements is the responsibility
of the participant. 
2. To avoid loss of credit, fees, and the experience of the outing,
make sure that you understand the requirements and double check
everything just prior to abseiling lessons.
3. Should less than the minimum number of clients as specified sign
up for the trip, we reserve the right to cancel with full refund or
offer participants the option of paying a surcharge to take the trip.
4. To enroll, pease call up the office on the numbers provided below
and register yourself well in advance as the group size is restricted
to a maximum number.
