---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tip of the day: Shared joy is doubled; shared pain is halved. Thus do we refute entropy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Congratulations to Ragini! BTW, this was the first birth that was announced on 'nukkad'. Earlier we had one wedding (Nelson's) and one death (Indira's) that were shared with the list. I am touched that these list members felt close enough with all of us to share a bit of their personal life. Ragini, thank you for sharing that piece of wonderful news! 2. Kailash Srivastava mentioned the filter at subscriber's mail server that blocks message with s e x in the text. I had commented on this in one of my earlier messages and so had Arya. There is nothing we can do about this. Don't take the rejects too personally. That filter is set to reject any and all messages that fits its criteria. Your email or your views are not being singled out. Let's just ignore it and move on. 3. Dr. Gupta asked about an efficient way to use the archives. One way to see the latest messages in the archive is to visit the front page of the mumbai-central.com site (http://www.mumbai-central.com) and scroll down to the 'nukkad' section (central column). The links there reflect the last five messages added to the archive. Note that these are not the last five messages sent to the list. The archive (available at: http://www.mumbai-central.com/nukkad/archive.html) is updated every couple hours and may be out of date by a few messages but not many. Once you click on a message, you can then click on either 'Date Index' or 'Thread Index' to see the other messages. Please let me know if this solves your problem. 4. Scanning the 'nukkad' messages from the past few days reminded me of Gene Spafford's quote about Usenet. It seems to apply here quite well. He said: Usenet is like a herd of performing elephants with diarrhea -- massive, difficult to redirect, awe-inspiring, entertaining, and a source of mind-boggling amounts of excrement when you least expect it. - 'shal -- http://www.mumbai-central.com : Where Mumbaikars meet ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, use the form at: http://www.mumbai-central.com/nukkad/#options This list is archived at: http://www.mumbai-central.com/nukkad/archive.html
