PRETENDING

Are we pretending politicians and bureaucrats were never corrupt?
That this is a scandal which has just arisen?
That yesterday everyone was innocent as a baby?

All that is different is someone caught it on tape.
All that is different is the dirty underwear are visible to the world.

Do you believe anything more than a few heads rolling will come of it?
That even as we speak people are not scurrying for damage control?
That as soon as the world media moves on the matter will fade?
That before the year is out everyone will have forgotten?
And the status will have run to a fatal, perpetual quo?

Every nation has corruption in the ranks.
India is unique because it separates them in classes.
With separate souls, hearts, heavens, rebirth and regeneration.

That is corruption. Not this storm in a teacup.
And that rot is in the heart of all who live by the castes.
