How much space do 40 people take? Well, it depends....

study (w/ pictures!) on the impact of automobiles on the perception
of urban space.

The study was done by a Tampa (Florida, USA) newspaper to argue for
more public transport to reduce traffic in the city.

While Mumbai definitely has an excellent public transport system 
(you don't realise how good it is till you have lived somewhere 
without BEST and the the suburban railway), the traffic situation
is worsening day by day. The Tampa study shows how much city
life could improve if there were less private vehicles.
