Dear All,
As Ben Franklin said, "If we don't all hang together, we will hang
saparately!" There might have been a number of reasons for some of our
progenitors to have accepted different religion than the ones they were
practicing, or atleast being attached with. I don't want to go into its ills
or favors, but most of us who understand a little bit of science know,
humanity was born of apes and not religion and divine; perhaps, divinity
acted in concurrence, but the point is apes or other humanoids did not
practice any religion. You may call it conversion or you may call it
revelation, but no religion or sect came from the womb of humanity. The were
left--to be fabricated or to be discovered--till the later stages of
humanity.
The difference between a human and an amoeba is that the latter has no
choice unto itself. Humans, on the other hand, are not only identified, but
defined by the choices they make. If we let "The Book", "The culture", "The
Tradition" define us, we are only going to set ourself back to an amoeban
existence. How could one question others, if one can't question one's own
morals? That's not faith, for knowledge precedes belief. My mother used to
tell me: "Learn, not memorize." Learn your religion; don't buy the books,
read them. Faith shall come only on realization of its virtue.
They aren't wrong, when they say, voilence is weak. Yes, only those who
don't have faith in the strength of their own belief would be willing to
spend others whom they can't win. Of course, you have "animal" victory that
way, but I am a firm believer, Humanity has more than animal form to it.
Regards,
Pankaj Gupta
