One can ignite the flame of love

In a heart that is still alive.

If there lingers the faintest breath,

The dying can yet somehow survive.



A spark is all that is needed

To set ablaze the stack of hay;

Although, if it be wet, not dry,

Cold, unlit, unburnt it will stay.



My love, no longer does that spark

Hide in the recess of my heart.

The more you try to warm me up,

The colder, I get on my part.



Pray, do not waste your love on me.

Now I am but a frozen flame.

Take your love to a flaming heart.

I am a flame only in name.
