Try Cooliris previews. It allows one to view a linked page as a preview without it taking up a tab. If you like the page, you can click a button to make it into a permanent tab (i.e. till you close it). Also try Tab MixPlus and Tab Minus. Adds many utilities to tabbing. For looks, try Colourful Tabs. To protect privacy of the tab names (such as when browsing sites you don't want others to know), try Tab Renamizer. Foxsaver starts a beautiful screensaver when you are busy doing something offline. IE Tab lets you open a IE tab, so that microsoft sites and so on can permit their official downloads. You don't need a IE window at all. I found this very useful while downloading Windows Defender, Microsoft Reader and other bill gates sites. Lastly, do try the Status Bar Calculator.
