Mumbai-Central.comWhere Mumbaikars meet |
I am not from Mumbai, but can share a little experience when I stayed there
briefly during my recent Maharashtra tour. The hotel room was very small,
charged Rs. 1850 a day, had just the basis facilities, did not have a
restaurant, and was hired by local Indians, so there was no chance of being
duped. [I had lived in a bigger and better room in a hotel in Jaipur for a
third of the price. Yes, Mumbai IS costly]. A lady coming from abroad needs
a better and safe place and the range of $ 60/- to 80 translates to Rs. 2400
to 3200 only. The YMCA hostel is the best bet. If you are adventurous,
Carola, and a hostel rather than Hotel is acceptable, you must keep in mind
Youth Hostels. For that, you have to become a member of International Youth
Hostel Association, if you are not already a member. Age is no bar.
I have lived in Youth Hostels in India and abroad.
