Maybe for airfares, but I don't think it is same for hotels. Get a quote for 
The Leela or The Taj and compare with the quote in USD you get on any of the 
major travel sites - travelocity/orbit/expedia and kayak.

You are in denial. Dual standards are prevalent everywhere in India, and always 
against 'outsiders', whether they be foreign tourists or people coming in to 
Mumbai from North India to earn their living. In Goa, it is the other extreme, 
so it has turned into the drug and pedophilia haven in the name of promoting 
tourism.

Yes it is simple enough. Visit any of the heritage places in India which have 
entry fees and foreign tourists need to pay 10 to 20 times that paid by 
Indians. If you can fleece,  fleece big.
