Mohammad Ali Jinnah:

?

Here
is an interesting info on the roots of Mohammad Ali Jinnah. He was the
grandson of Premjibhai Thakkar (Gondal), who entered into the trading
of fishes on coastal town Veraval, in order to support his large
family. This was the cause of his removal from Lohana community. He
made enough money in this trade and requested the Lohana community to
remove the ban on his family, since he had decided to discontinue the
fish business. But, the Lohana leaders did not accept his request.

Punjalal
Thakkar, as strong as any other Lohana, reacted with equal and opposite
force by adapting Muslim religion. Names of all his sons were also
changed. He had either 4 or 5 sons. Skinny son was called as Zino
(dublo / patalo as in Gujarati). He was also called as Ziniyo by elders
in the family. Nickname remained the same, even after conversion to
Muslim. Zino (Jino)'s son opted Jinna as his family name, which was the
nickname of his converted father.

So, here is the fact. India (Bharat) and Pakistan are sons of Saurashtra born
Gandhiji and Jinnah.
My source of info is an article in Gujarat Samachar.
