Assuming you are right, which probably you are, I stand corrected. Tribal
law is certainly not Sharia law. Sharia law is certainly a defined ststem of
law. And, yes, her name was Mukhtaran Mai. I think her case was taken up  by
an international NGO. Probably she even visited abroad in this connection.
Musharraf famously said something as follows regarding such
incidents: Pakistani women come up with rape charges to attract foreign
media in an attempt to get asylum / residence there.
