There is no question of comparison. These are entirely different scenarios.
Slaves and Harijans can't be compared. Slavery and slaves were a legal
entity in USA. As per that entity, slaves were legally treated as chattel,
not humans. The implication is that they could not sue and had no rights or
remedy. In law, they were, being chattel, supposed to be devoid of any
emotion. Harijans were NEVER  chattel in law. They had full legal rights. As
late as 50 years ago, US law allowed segragation against blacks. Law was
changed only after Rosa Parks took the cudgels.
