Hello MCG,
A question Mark in the Subject and an exclamation mark in the Text! Rather not 
make a value judgement here about the state of mind. So I will just post some 
observations.

Observation:
On a close knit community where its more like really sitting on a "Katta" and 
discussing things, very minimalistic personal comments do sneak into the 
discussion. They are the Masala of the meal and make it tastier. Nothing to be 
taken personally.

Observation:
It was not too recent past I remember you appeciating/applauding  another list 
member for making personal remarks about another list member. I am sure you 
remember too. Because someone pulled you up for it. Why the double standards. 
Doosre ke kandhe par bandook shobha deti hai?/!

Observation:
A listserv is by its very existence a place which needs the presence of  a 
thick skin and the absence of a thick skull.
