Dear Ravi,

I usually avoid writing personal mails, nor do I like them. I am writing
this to you because you have specifically addressed me as a person. I always
avoid being blunt, call it legalese, if you will. You will never find
avoidable three and four letter words in my mails. The only bluntness I will
now descend to now is this: With all the intelligence that anybody may have,
he cannot understand technicalities of a particular discipline. Medicine is
no exception. You might have slight edge over others because of your MSc in
microbiology. I do not want to throw challenges. However, if I were Mean, I
would have done some serious medical study and then pointed out, preferably
in personal mail, not on open forum, what is nonfactual or incorrect in a
particular scientific statement. I am open to that game and that was the
very intent of my last mail. I refuse to discuss serious science or law
disputes on the forum. That is my clear position. I am always open to such
discussion, in medical or legal language, with a professional, whether
a doctor or a lawyer, . This is in line with my attitude in respect of my
other specialty, poetry. I don't have to argue with nukkad members on the
open forum and refute somebody's sarcastic remarks that what I write is
nonsense trash, not poetry. I believe in freedom of speech and in not
telling people what or how they should write. That is why I prefer to keep
quiet when somebody assumes that he is fully knowledgeable and competent to
judge others in various fields, be it in relation to law, medicine or
poetry. All these three have highly specialised sub-disciplines and I do not
know much about many of them. But, then, I do not make any claim about such
knowledge. However, in the present case, when I say I stand by what I said
earlier, it means I believe I have reasonably enough knowledge in the
particular field to make a confident statement when contested by another
specialist in the field.

Hope I have been able to explain my position to you. If I have failed, it is
unfortunate. I don't think I will succeed even if I make another try.
