SAS did long ago! MCG forgot/lost? Here it is again!

1. Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak [1856-1920, Historian, patriot, social 
reformer, poet, philosopher & reporter]
2. Netaji Subhash Cahndra Basu - Chitta Ranjan Das - Bipin Chandra Pal 
[patriots-statesmen]
3. Dr Dhondo Keshav Karve-Rama bai Ranade [Women's Education, social 
reformers]
4. Swami Vivekananda [1863-1903, the First 'English speaking Hindu sanyasi' 
opened 'Hindu-ism' to the world]
5. Vinakyak Damodar Savarkar [1883-1966, Historian, patriot, social 
reformer, poet & reporter]

BTW, naming at least 10 would do some justice to any list of this type.

In 2000, in UK BBC had a poll of Greatest Britons, people voted a few 
hundred, they shortlisted 100, then 10.
