I found out about this some time ago and have since stopped eating french 
fries at McDonalds or any other restaurant.

Previously to 1989 or 1990, McDonalds used to fry their french fries
completely in Beef fat. With the newer generation starting to turn
vegetarian because of multiple reasons including religion, health, obesity 
etc., McDonalds started frying them in in pure vegetable oil. In fact, they 
started advertising with the slogan, "Made in 100% pure vegetable oil." What 
they failed to mention, hid from the public in fact, that they used a small 
percentage of beef talow as flavoring, disguising it by saying "natural 
flavoring" used. AND THE USDA LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THAT. Even though the 
USDA knew that they advertised their fries as vegetarian. I think the USDA 
should also be put on the podium asone of the defendants in this case.
