If this logic is applied to both the partners.. then the other 
hypothesis

"Happiness in marriage depends on finding the right partner"

also becomes true..

Dear Milind,
When I was younger, I revelled in such types of "smart pearls of 
logic" [no offence meant]. I learned, almost too late, what sages 
have said earlier, To quote:

"Logic is the worst enemy of truth as self-righteousnes is the 
worst enemy of virtue; for, the one cannot see its own errors, nor 
the other its imperfections."--- Sri Aurobindo.

Let me assure you, in matters concerning marriage and women, it is 
safer to go by the heart than by the brain. Even in corporate 
management, more and more is being talked now about EQ. Hardly any 
one talks about IQ now-a-days.

One last thing, in general, and, to nelson in particular:

"Never ever try to understand women. You will never succeed. 
However, in the process, you will lose energy, valuable time and 
peace of mind, as also will develop a feeling of frustration due 
to not having succeeded. Discretion is the better part of valour; 
better not to attempt to scale Mount Everest." [It is not a good 
comparison,though. Some men have actually been able to reach 
there].
