sir, yes, i have known a surgeon who wrote in his children' school admision form : "whether eligible for reservation- no". he came from a family eligible for reservations. his logic was "i have come up in life. my children do not need reservation anymore". but such gems are rare. i have also known stinking rich people applying for reservation catogory on questionable premises.
no doubt reservation pulls out a few. but they become another caste among their caste, never interact with the section of society they came from, leave alone work for their uplift!
that is why i feel the damage the system is causing is more than the good it does.
your Question: Is quality of education more
important or the quality of student?
the plant can be only as good as the seed it came from even if the best land is provided.
