[nukkad] Windows 2000 professional

A few questions please:[I got Windows 2000 professional installed 
on my computer recently after formatting of the  the hard disc]

1. It says it uses NT technology. What is it/

2. Is windows 2000 professional same as Windows NT?

3. In system tools, it does not have the scan Disk program. Is it 
that this is missing from Windows 2000 professional? It is 
difficult to believe it. Looks like there is something wrong with 
the installation. Please confirm immediately. I have yet to pay 
the person and i should know if he has done shoddy job.

4. In system tools, it does not have the option for defragmenting 
drive A [floppy drive]. Windows 98 and Windows Me have this 
facility.  Is it that this feature is missing from Windows 2000 
professional? It is difficult to believe it. Looks like there is 
something wrong with the installation. Please confirm immediately. 
I have yet to pay the person and i should know if he has done 
shoddy job.

5. I have CD for Office 97 as well as Office 2000. Which one 
should i get installed. Currently 97 is installed. Should I change 
to 2000? In what way is it better? [My work on computer is rather 
simple: word processing, e mail and surfing]. I have Pentium III 
with 13 gb memory, half of which is free.

6. I had Norton utilities installed on my computer earlier. It is 
no longer there. How to get it? [A. Is it part of office 97 or 
2000? B. Is it to be downloaded from the net? From what site?
