Homiji,

I agree, dowry in its present form is a silly alternate to the asset
division. Still, we need some way to do that. In the age of increasing women
empowerment, I suppose, this shall be taken care of in some time. Till than,
the silly, but still well accepted alternate should do.

A question, by the way: why do the woman necessarily have to leave her home
after getting married? Talking about women empowerment, there are a whole
lot of things that need to be changed.
