Dear Shyamala
             I'm shocked to to read your bitter experience. Especially since 
Kochi is the one city I keep close to my heart, being my native place. I 
find it really hard to beleive that such narrow mindedness exists in my home 
state of Kerala which is otherwise called a progressive state. It seems that 
for some people education is just a decoration and avenue for displaying 
power. I'm against reservations in priciple but in no way did and will I 
discriminate anyone who enjoyed the benefits of reservations, afterall it is 
the state which is at fault and not any individual. And under no 
circumstances should have a college professor harassed his student just to 
satisfy his whims, fancies and  narrow prejudices.  His actions have put a 
blot on the noble profession of teaching as a whole including my mother who 
was a college teacher till her retirement.

However I can assure you out of my heart that this is just an isolated 
incident and no way should you take it as as typical Malayali/Keralite 
attitude. Also if you can provide me the details of the college, university 
and the professor, I will do my level best to bring it to the notice of 
those responsible. I may not be in a position to take the wrongdoer to task 
but atleast I can spread the message through social groups which will be 
better than nothing. In case you are hesitant to divulge information on the 
list, you are most welcome to send it to my personal email.
