Asha,

I haven't installed SCO so I don't know the exact steps or details.
But I have installed various other Unix-based systems and so have a
pretty good idea of what to do.

I guess you are installing SCO from a CD. Did you get any books
or other documentation with the CD? This is usually very helpful
during the installation process.

If you don't have any such documentation, check out these web-pages:
http://pcunix.com/SCOFAQ/scotec9.html
http://www.cruzio.com/~jeffl/sco/notes.htm

and the comp.unix.sco newsgroup. You can read the SCO newsgroups
via the web:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&group=comp.unix.sco

Have you popped-in the CD and seen what happens? If you are
installing SCO on a brand-new system and don't have to worry about
breaking something, this is the best way to go. The on-screen
prompts will tell you what to do and how to proceed. Let me know
if you get stuck.

BTW, I assume that the decision to use SCO was made by someone else
and is not subject to change. However, if you do have a say in
choosing the OS and all you need is a Unix-like system, choose
Linux or FreeBSD. The install process in both these, especially Linux,
is very straightforward.

Good luck,
- 'shal
