There is the concept of Total Cost of Ownership. You have to take into
consideration the total cost, be it training, software cost, cost of time
wasted on doing unproductive work, and so on. So, your decision to shift to
the new OS would be dependent on the combined cost. For a non-technical
small organization, usually, I wouldn't advice to shift to *nix. But, that
all depends on your particular scenario.
