Well written Ashay,
Hope some members will shed their ignorance aside and come to terms with truth.
Here are two more examples of Gandhi's non-violence.
He himself did lot of canvassing for recruiting young men to join British 
war effort in first WW. He walked miles in the Kheda district ( 100 Km 
south of Ahmedabad) , campaigning with a thali and a stick in hand, 
inviting recruits. On his own admission, he could not succeed much.
He always rejected Bose's fighting temper, but when Bose was scoring gains 
in the jungles of Malayasia, he hailed him as " Patriot of Patriots" ( now 
that he was away and posed no danger ).
