ICICI direct seems to have most widespread features, especially  because
of their banking interface.

for day order (buy and sell the same day) there is 0.15% commission
subject to min Rs 15/-
for delivery (buy and keep in demat) there is 0.85% commission subject
to min Rs 25.

You need to open a saving bank account, a demat a/c and a trading a/c. I
think fees for first year is 750/- and for renewals 300/- a year
probably.

you can trade both on nse/bse. you can place orders for NSE 24 hours,
but bse orders are placed only during trading session.

Sometime the order placed during off-trading time gets rejected if it is
beyond certain range of last closing price, even if teh scrip reaches it
the next day.

if you are not able to trade on site during trading session. They give a
local no. in which you can place your orders by paying rs 25/- per
order. Five such orders are free a month.

there is detailed info available on stock history and companies. they
have free e-newsletters for subscribers.

so on.

min order has to be of value 1000/-. you can buy 100 share at 10.00 each
but can't sell if its value goes down to 9.99/-

the minimum charges are very high.

incoming and outgoing from demat a/c to any other demat a/c or market
sell is Rs 25/- per scrip.
