Sure there are.

See the list at:

There are some fantastic links to related articles at the bottom
of the list. If you find numbers interesting, be sure to follow
them. And the 'Index by subject' links in the left column are
sure to be a time-sink too.

A teacher of mine highlighted the different terminology in the
UK and the US (a British billion is more than an American billion)
using an implausible but hard-to-forget example. He warned us that
when we become billionaires and try to use that as leverage when
wooing a British girl, we better use the correct terminology
or else we might cause all sorts of confusion. Like I said,
highly implausible. (-8

Here is another list of large numbers this time highlighting the
difference between American and Japanese nomenclature:

BTW, the popular search engine Google is named after the
number Googol which is 1 followed by a hundred zeroes.

I remember learning about Googol from a comic book of all things
where the villain was named Googol. The heroes couldn't figure
out what his diabolical plan was till they learned what Googol
meant. His plan was to use a hundred Japanese WWII fighter planes
(called Zeros) to attack something. The plan was of course foiled.
I don't remember much of the other details but I remember being
surprised to find out that Googol was a real mathematical concept
and that the comic was sophisticated enough to use it in a plot.
Who said comics are a waste of time?
