1. Aryaji with all his penchant for surveys and statistical analysis of data has probably subconsciously lived up to the adage: Eyes see what the mind knows [or fancies]. I can instantly recall two more ladies on the list: Shyamala in Ireland and Archana Shrivastava, who is a journalist and gave us a nice re-posting of alternate views on Gujarat. 
2. Why ladies are not very vocal on the list may be for a variety of reasons. Some are given below:

A. They have better things to do. Some mails on nukkad are rather churlish, repetitive, petty or in bad taste, even outright abusive.
B. They feel that in all the cacophony that the male members make, apparently to merely satisfy their itch to show their talents [scientific, literary, poetic, religious, sociological etc.], they might as well sit pretty and watch the show as spectators, rather than become the actors/jokers/clowns themselves.
C. They might be a victim of the KBKT syndrome:

[Kahaneko Bahut Kutch Tha ,
Agar kahane pe aate;
Apni to yeh aadat hai,
Hum kutch nahin kahate.

Unko yeh shikayat hai
Hum kutch nahin kahate.]

D. they might just prefer to be not too vocal because the charm and mystique of womanhood lies in its being vague, secretive, elusive.

Chhupte bhi nahin, paas aate bhi nahin]
