Posting anything to 'nukkad' is like making a public speech. You
can't control who hears it and how it gets interpreted. Note that
all 'nukkad' messages are archived on the web and could show
up in search results months and even years after your original
email. Similarly, other members on the list may forward it to other
people. We all need to be aware of this when participating here.

Over the years, I have received a few emails from people who
regretted what they posted asking me to remove their messages from
the archives. Obviously, they didn't realise the nature of a
mailing list when they were part of 'nukkad'.

On your specific question, I personally don't have a problem
with forwarding 'nukkad' messages to other people. But this is
a personal issue and someone else may object to their messages being
forwarded. In any case, as long as you retain the authorship of
the email and the origin, no norms have been violated.

I am, however, not too comfortable with the reverse practice
- including personal email in a reply and directing the reply
to the list. My logic is that the personal email was sent directly
because the sender wanted a direct one-to-one conversation. Including
such email in a public message is counter to the sender's intent and
violates their trust. This is not very common on 'nukkad' but it
does happen once in a while. Please take care to keep personal
conversations off the list.

Regards,
- 'shal
