<<this is a (rather long) response to m c guptajis mail.>>
sir,
i understand that it shall be extremely difficult for people of your
generation to accept any kind of anti gandhian statements due to complete
brainwashing since childhood. maybe if i were in ur shoes i would react the
same way.however this is my humble attempt to put forth my case.
firstly let me tell u that i am being absolutely neutral in all my
judgements n am not some kind of hinduvta freak out of plain fundamentalism
as u might think. i have passion for studying history n my views are a
logical result of unbiased observations of real incidents.i have been
aethist for most of my life n presently agnostic so a vishnu or a allah dont
mean much for me.i just go by who had a better philosophy n who was treated
unjustly/justly n why.inspite of being a brahmin i have renounced the varna
system years ago so that prevents me from biasing my views based on caste.n
for gods sake i ma not a maharashtrian so i find the maharashtrian ghodse
killing gujarati gandhi absolutely baseless.
i agree that gandhi was not without merits. he indeed invoked qute a bit of
mass movement n united people to a certain extent but so did many others.
about teaching the gita i say it was a hum-drum statement meant to arouse
people emotionally.i can tell u ten others who teached the gita n much
better than him.then unfortuantely he was at best 30% merit n 70 % curse.
n the following shall summarise why
* unnecesaary appeasement of the moslims inspite of repeated treachery.once
bitten twice shy did not hold true in the case of this saintly
megalomaniac.go through accounts of khilafat movement ,mooplah
rebellion, direct action day n finally partition, n donating 50 crore to
pakistan even when their tribesmen were attacking us to get the saga of
treachery.
* moslems perpetuated atrocity upon atrocity on the non-violent hindus n all
he did was condone killings in the name of non-violence. this was but an
encouragement to kill more n bully more.
* non-violence never did win us any freedom but hitlers invasion did n i am
absolutely unconvinced as to we would have ever achived it using
non-violence.
* during the poona act tiff against ambedkar he saved hinduism no doubt but
could have done much more effectively by saying "i shall fast untill death
not only if they demand separate electorates but also if brahmins dont allow
dalits to enter the temple" that would have ensired better rights n more
brotherhood. the dalits n ambedkar felt cheated at the end of it.
* actually asked the indian soldiers to fight for britain in WW1 - where was
non-violence then.
* he effectively blocked any political rival who even slightly opposed his
ideologies(subhash bose, bhagat singh etc).n the worst gift he gave was the
dreamy ineffiecient nehru at the helm of afairs. nehru in turn did more
damange than even a pakistani nuke might do with his socialism, linguistic
division of state, foolish handling of kashmir issue, loss in china war due to
military unpreparednes, creation of english speaking elite, further
appeasement n looking lowly upon hindu n indian culture.
now coming to the sentimental pistol weilding fiend killing a 79 year old
guy. well please tell me what had the 79 year old guy to lose - practically
nothing. the young ghodse had a bright future ahead and he put himself to
sure death n risked the lives n limbs of his family members for a cause that
he n many like me think correct.as for gandhi what he truly was only his
family knows.all his sons are dead against him n hate him from the core of
their heart n also kasturba though she never declared it has many a times
expressed her woes regarding his extreme eccentricities.
as for jesus i am not in a position to comment becoz i dont know the
conditions of that time pretty well. nothing is embarrasing for me if it
sounds correct. had i been convinced that jews(actually not jews but roman
jews with mphasis on "romans") were justified then i wouldnt have minded.had
jesus been sent to earth with a purpose them surely he didnt achive any of
it. coz christianity happens to be the most violent religion in the
world(remember the crusades, colonisation n annihilation of entire races in
the name of christ) seconded only by islam and inspite of sobering down now
most catholics continue to try n convert desperately. its only the
protestant who have improvised chrititanity after martin luther's movements
n renaissance n r living progressively(western europe).i appreciate the
western european nations for having done so.but to this day i havent seen
anybody from the western world follow the forgive n forget gospel that
christ is supposed to have taught.
as for israel i am highly impressed by it n see a lesson for us to learn.
they never troubled anybody n just wanted to live in peace but they were
tortured n slaughtered all along by everybody becoz of their cultural n
intellectual superiority but physical n military inferiority(just like us)
but now they have turned the tides n hell be to anyone who attacks them. the
foolish arabs thinking them to be weak planned to attack them togehter n
spoke of throwing them into the sea - but look where they stand now.i see
many similarity in theirs n our case n i hope we shall measure up to them
someday.
now leave history aside n think of what mR mohandas karamchand gandhi would
have done in this present situation.after having read a lot on gandhi n also
his autobiography i can surely say this.
* would have asked us to hand over kashmir unquestioningly as the pakis are
our brothers.
* would have extended financial loans to pak to help them develop economy
* would have been against nuclearisation even if pak carried on with its
programs
* would have requested us to condone the jehadis in kashmir n would have
said " they r doing it for a purpose they think religious(anybidy remember
mooplah??)
* would have requested that we forget the godhra episode n make peace with
everybody.n might have offered a few more to be burnt.
hinduism as never waged war against anybody n there is no effort ever to
convert anybody.this reminds me of vivekanadas statement when asked by a
white lady as to what she should do be become a god hindu as she wanted to
convert. he said " be a good christian - -then u r automatically a good
hindu as u shall be doing ur duty".thats the beauty of hinduism - it does
not impose anything on anybody n alows new thought n ideas unlike
monotheistic ones which are very restricted.but i wont get into that.let
people pray to whoever they want to but let us live in peace.we dont attempt
to degrade or convert.but what if we r attacked from all sides.
gandhis non-violence is defeatist bullshit to be devoured only by the
apologetic pseudo-secularists. its survival of the fittest n we have to be
fit to tackle people who dont want us to survive.lord rama while killing
bali hiding behind a tree said "one must treat the wicked with wickedness".
even krishna said to arjun "we tried all means to get peace n live happily
but the kauravas dont agree so u have to fight" thats what is india's
situation today.
n yeah gujrat is a hint n a good one of changing hindu mentality n showing
some aggression.still the impotent media behaves so partially. nobody tells
that almost 200(ie one third) kiled are hindus n 40,000 hindus too r in
refugee camps.has anyone ever highlighted this. all stories are made to look
one sided. and what does one expect after killing 58 innocents in cold
blood. they got much less than what they deserve n i am happy for the
rejection of gandhian philosophy by the very state he came from. that is a
first sign of victory n reawakening.
i do not say all this out of religious bias but only because i feel that
injustice has been done to us for long enough - -we have tried every means
to coexist peacefully inspite of copious humiliations we have been subjected
to - -but it is too much now.its the question of the survival of the
greatest, most tolerant n broadminded philosophy of all times.just read what
gandhi would have done in present situation n tell me "DO U WANT TO APPLY
GANDHIAN PHILOSPHY ANY LONGER"???
