after marriage, each begins to hear what the other is saying.

later, each begins to not hear what the other is saying.

3240 days -
later EITHER each can hear what the other does not need to say, 
OR, each is entirely deaf to what the other has to say.

[90 days is 1/4 a year, 1080 days is 3 years, 3240 dais is 9 years].
