Akshay,

Very well articulated views. You have certainly outdone yourself. I myself am of the opinion that whatever history we learn is what the victors want us to learn.

This is simply because it is the victor's prerogative. And, the loser having lost, is in no position to make any changes. Also, it is in the victor's interests that history be told from his viewpoint. How else can he ensure that his views prevail?

Consequently, I feel that we haven't been told the entire truth about a lot of things that have taken place and that are taking place. In this sense, the US of A is no better. There are sufficient intrigues in this country to allow a programme such as X-Files to be wildly popular - and be thought of as being the truth.

I feel that we will NEVER KNOW the truth about many things. Hence the need to keep an open mind and try to become as aware as possible.

In the stifling atmosphere of Indian government and Indian bureaucracy this is well nigh impossible. Hence patriots may be needed to leave the country so that their research may proceed without hindrance. But care must also be taken to ensure that one's views are not unduly influenced by one's host country.

Sai
