There has been a lot of discussion on the list about kissing.
Defining a topic is essential for meaningful discussion of the
same. Our friend Ramakrishnan [yes, he is OUR friend on the list,
but a truly silent one, testifying to the fact that silent waters
run deep]has very kindly sent me a list of professorial
definitions, which i reproduce below for wider sharing as also to
invite more dfinitions or modifications/critiques of the ones
given below.
Surprisingly, there is no definition from a professor of law; may
be because all that they consider worth kissing is money. In any
case, i would try to send one [preferably, a researched one; if I
fail, then a manufactured one]. Lawyers on the list may please
give a helping hand.

Definition of A Kiss
Here's how the professors of different subjects define the same
word kiss
in different ways:
Prof. of Algebra : Kiss is infinity because two divided by
nothing.
Prof. of Geometry : Kiss is the shortest distance between two
lips.
Prof. of Physics : Kiss is the contraction of mouth due to the
expansion of the heart.
Prof. of Chemistry : Kiss is the reaction of the interaction
between
twohearts.
Prof. of Zoology : Kiss is the interchange of salivary bacteria.

orbicularis oris
muscles in the state of contraction.
Prof. of Dentistry : Kiss is infectious and antiseptic.
Prof. of Accountancy : Kiss is a credit because it is profitable
when
returned.
Prof. of Economics : Kiss is that thing for which the demand is
always
higher than the supply.
Prof. of Statistics : Kiss is an event whose probability depends
on the
vital statistics of 36-24-36.
Prof. of Philosophy : Kiss is the persecution for the child,
ecstasy
For the youth and homage for the old.
Prof. of English : Kiss is a noun that is used as a conjunction;
it is more
common than proper;it is spoken in the plural and it is
applicable to all.
Prof. of Comp.Science : What is a kiss? It looks to be an
undefined
variable
Prof. of Architecture : Kiss is a process which builds a solid
bond
between the two dynamic objects
