you are where arya was a few months ago.
and i do remember what you wrote about it.
though you have changed views and appreciate arya's poems now that you are
in his boat, at least i am in the same state of groaning on seeing poems
after poems!
you constraint that you mentioned is appreciated!
hope you will take this in the right sense.
i wouldn't have written so openly if i did not think you would anyway!

Dear Dr. Vsudevan,

1.      Thanks for your comments. I always look forward to feedback. That is 
the only way I can view myself, as in a mirror. I am grateful.

2.      I have passed from the stage whenI had discovered the poet in me and 
was excited with the discovery. I am writing more poetry now than earlier. I do 
not post it to nukkad now, except in the following circumstances:

A.      When it concerns nukkad I some way.
B.      When requested [sometimes, the request come to me privately, but, due 
to situational reasons, I respond on the list].
C.      When there is a specific reason.

In the last category are the 3-4 poems posted yesterday. You might have  noted 
that all were sent cc / bcc to myself. The reason was that my connectionwas 
out, I was in cyber café, I read some mail, which produced a flood of ideas and 
strong urge, both culminating in poem, which I wanted to save for my own 
computer at home. At the time, I thought it smart to send it to nukkad, and I 
would get it in my mailbox  automatically. For abundant precaution, I marked a 
cc / bcc to myself. In retrospect, I think I could have simply sent it to 
myself, without sending to nukkad at all. I am wiser now and will be extra 
careful.

3.      My comparison with Arya is misplaced.

A.      He is too tall and versatile a personality
B.      I do not subscribe to his unscientific ways, nor to his supercilious, 
almost contemptuous, aloofness, with hateful disregard for any feedback given 
to him, a position he has himself made pretty clear when he said, on somebody’s 
asking him pretty innocently about the meaning of something he could not 
understand: I write for myself, not others; it is not for me to explain the 
meaning of what I write. Only towering philosophers and mystics and poets can 
write like that. 

C.      Whatever poems I write in Hindi / urdu are always accompanied or 
followed by English version.

4. There is no question of my minding it. I am grateful to you. All list 
members may kindly feel totally free to express their views on the open list 
about me or my writings. I know it takes an effort to send a mail and, 
additionally, it shows a degree of concern. I shall be thankful to all for that 
expression of concern.
