Ref:

'' India ..... the land of dreams and romance, of fabulous
wealth and fabulous poverty, of splendour and rags, of
palaces and hovels, of famine and pestilence, of genii
and giants and Aladdin lamps, of tigers and elephants,
the cobra and the jungle, the country of a hundred nations
and a hundred tongues, of a thousand religions and two
million Gods, cradle of the human race, birthplace of
human speech, mother of history, grandmother of legend,
great-grandmother of tradition, whose yesterdays bear
date with the mouldering antiquities of the rest of the
nations - the sole country under the sun that is endowed
with imperishable interest for alien prince and alien
peasant, for lettered and ignorant, wise and fool, rich and
poor, bond and free, the one land all men desire to see,
and having seen once, by even a glimpse, would not give
that glimpse for the shows of all the rest of the globe
combined.''

------ Mark Twain, U.S. philosopher, on a visit to India
towards the end of nineteenth century.

I quote, verdict is yours.

********************

To give a verdict on the profound obvious would be a folly. I only hope that
those whose look to the frozen continents with awe warm up towards their own
rich roots and, if they are, due to their ignorance or
pseudo-intellectualism-secularism, blindly imbibed from the manipulating
Western minds and pens and tongues, unable to feel justly happy and proud,
but not complacent, about their being Indian, at least stop looking down
upon their country of origin while, at the same time, singing praise of
their adopted, invariably Western countries, which are certainly great, but
not necessarily the greatest just because they have the maximum nukes or
divorce rates or living-in rates.
