There is gas to last a few generations :-). Qatar has teh largest
single accumulation of Gas in the world. The rest of teh middle east
is also rich in gas but are not exploiting it currently because of low
prices.
The new technology today is Gas to Liquid being pioneered by South
Africa and Shell as well.
