If I may make a reccomendation try and read Paul Theroux's Great
Railway Bazaar extremely well writtn, without appearing to be
patronising. I also read his Riding teh Iron rooster and learnt that
the word Ghar in Hindi may have come to us from Mongolia. Brought
through by the Mughal invaders. Of course the insinuation is purely
mine not Theroux. He mentions the Yurrt or circular house o fteh
mongols and says that it is called Ghur in teh local langage. Did not
Babur dand teh Mughals have Mongolian blood?
An interesting read both books are, though I relate better to teh Bazaar.
Another snippet from bazaar is that Cain and Abel are supposedly
buried in Rameswaram in South India so perhaps teh Garden of Eden was
indeed Sri Lanka!
