Am I thrilled!

Reading Maloy's response without his signature, one might as well believe it
was written by MCG. But, then, it would be dubbed as anti-American:)

I remember having read somewhere that there was evidence that US research on
alternative sources of energy was being suppressed because that would be
against the powerful oil lobby. Maloy has rightly suggested that the 'new
economic order' might as well be built around nuclear energy and, hence, it
is in US interest that other nations are prevented from developing that
capability. The present Iran-US confrontation is an example. Even the US
resistance to Indo-US nuclear treaty may be in the same league.

One thing that the initial mail did not mention was the possibility of solar
energy being sent via laser beams or the like from outer space with the help
of satellites put their with this specific purpose. Some research has
already been done on this.

I remember that in one of my mails, about 2 years ago, on this list, I had
stated that the US soft corner for Saudi Arabia and other dictatorial
sheikhdoms will cease the day their oil dries up or they stop giving oil
for peanuts, so that Americans may get oil 'cheaper than water', as
mentioned in the mails on this thread. Iraq refused those peanuts and got
bombs instead.
