One of the items in the FAQ states that this is specifically for
broad-band connections. Dial-up connections should not expect any
improvement in performance.

Call me cynical - but that FAQ makes this one of the most in-your-face
mistakes Google has made. This is, more than anything else, a blatant
attempt to track your web browsing behaviour.

Of course, if you have the Google bar, they are already doing this.
