Re: [nukkad] The Devil's advocate

About the only sport I competed in was 'pick paise' - which consisted
of running a distance, blowing wheat flour with mouth only and finding
a single coin within it, grabbing it with mouth and returning.
Needless to say, I came in last.

Then there was the unofficial cricket match (with season ball) I
played in - as the wicket keeper - no less! The opposing team batted
first and their highest score was some 12 or so. Mr. Extras was 40+
(mostly byes and leg byes) and their total was < 100. When we batted,
we scored enough runs to beat them - had we not had Mr. Extras to
contend with.

With that, my sporting interests came to an end - except for a brief
encounter with tennis for about 3 months in 1986, when I tried to
learn tennis.

The lights of stars that were extinguished ages ago still reach us. So it
is with great men who died centuries ago, but still reach us with the
radiation of their personalities. -Kahlil Gibran, poet and artist (1883-1931)
