If you switch lines about 50% of the times that you stand in a line,
this happens only because you notice it when you change lines. If your
own line were to move faster, you wouldn't notice it - and hence
wouldn't remark on the 50% of the time that you didn't change lines.

-LAW OF TELEPHONE : When you dial a wrong number, you
-never get an engaged one.

Easy explanation - because the times when you get and engaged tone,
you don't *know* whether the number is the right one or the wrong one.

-BATH THEOREM: When the body is immersed in water, the
-telephone rings.

Which is why God gave us cordless phones :-)

-LAW OF THE RESULT: When you try to prove to someone
-that a machine won't work, it will!

Again, this is because yo only remember the times when this law holds.
The vast number of times when a broken machine remains broken is never
remembered.

-THEATRE RULE: People with the seats at the furthest
-from the aisle arrive last.

How many times have you arrived late yourself when you have a seat
away from the aisle?
